Large and Small Patches

There are a lot of different types of motorcycle patches available on sites like The Cheap Place.  While some bikers love to go for those large patches that are really detailed and colorful, others like the smaller patches because they can put more of them on their jacket.  There are a number of different sizes out there, but usually small patches are around three to four inches in size, while larger ones may be ten inches or more.

There are some patches that come in both sizes.  For example, some of the wild animal patches are available in both three inch and eight or nine inch size.  You can put the larger version on the back of your vest and the smaller one on the front.  You could also put these matching patches on the saddlebags on your bike.  You could even put one of the smaller ones on your wallet or on the front of your cap if you wanted to.

Also, even though the larger patches do tend to have more detail, that's not to say that smaller patches aren't that detailed or colorful.  Some of them use a number of different colors and have a lot of detail.  Eagle patches, for example, usually show individual feathers and have shades of color around the tips and on the eagle's head.

While some patches do come in both sizes, some of the really detailed larger ones are not available in smaller sizes.  This is because there's just too much on the patch to shrink down, and the detail would be lost.  Some of the different designs just can't be done any smaller.  Some of the small patches haven't been replicated in larger size, either, because they wouldn't look quite right if they were any larger.
