Motorcycle Riding for Couples

It's great when your single and can hit the open road whenever you feel like it, but what about when you have a significant other or are married?  You don't have as much freedom as you did before, especially if your significant other isn't into motorcycle riding.  But if he or she is, then you have a rare opportunity: you can go riding as a couple and enjoy your rides together.  You can even, if you're so inclined, get matching gear, motorcycles, biker patches, and other items.

If your spouse wants to ride with you, you will have to decide in what way you'll ride together.  You can get a second bike for your spouse, but she may not want to ride on her own.  In that case, you may want to invest in a bike with a good sized second seat.  You could also get a side car for her to ride in.  It really depends on how active she wants to be.  Riding her own motorcycle is, obviously, requires the most activity, while riding in a side car requires the least.

You'll also have to make sure she has the proper gear for riding.  She will need a helmet, a good durable jacket, and a good pair of pants.  She might also want some riding gloves, some cold-weather and rainy-weather gear, and some good biker boots.  Of course, she'll need some motorcycle patches to decorate her jacket with and maybe some stickers for her helmet.

While it will require some extra expenses if she doesn't already have a bike, it's well worth it.  The two of you will have a lot of fun sharing your riding experience, and you plan weekend vacations and other trips on your bikes.
