If you've been looking for some new iron on patches for your jacket or other item, you know that there are hundreds of different designs, and some of them can get a little, well, vulgar or offensive. These patches might include only a phrase or even a single work, or they might feature an image that's very sexual in nature. Either way, while you might find these patches pretty hilarious, other people might be very offended by them. Does that mean you shouldn't wear these embroidered patches on your clothing? Of course not! But you should be mindful of the fact that they are on your jacket.
What does that mean, exactly? It means that you shouldn't be shocked when someone lets you know in no uncertain terms that they think your patches are disgusting and that you're a horrible person for wearing them. That's their opinion, and while it's probably wrong, they are entitled to it. Just smile and nod or point to one of the offending patches that applies to the situation (and there are a few that would!). You should also remember that any item with these types of patches on it might not be appropriate for some occasions, like if you're going on a job interview. It's best not to offend any potential boss until after you're hired.
The problem with some patches is that they're truly meant as a joke, and most people will find them funny, but then there's that one person who takes the saying literally or who fails to get the humor. They're going to get upset and possibly make a scene, but what can you do? If they don't get it, they don't get it.
