Most of the time we talk about embroidered patches in relation to motorcycle clubs and such. But there are so many other uses for these great items it's hard to ignore them. One example that comes to mind is that of dogs being raised as assistants for the disabled. I am intimately familiar with this type of thing because my family used to be part of a program that raised Labradors through the first year of their lives before they went to school to become Seeing Eye dogs.
All of the dogs in this program have a special vest they wear whenever they are out in public so people know they are in training. But I always thought it would be nice to have some embroidered patches to attach to the vest every time my dog reached one of her milestones. It would serve both as motivation for me to continue her training and a little memento to remember her by once she was gone.
The great thing about embroidered patches is that you can have them custom made by pretty much any dealer that sells wholesale patches. My obvious favorite is The Cheap Place. You can submit your design ideas to The Cheap Place and they will turn them into your own custom patches for whatever purpose you decide. Maybe you have a motorcycle club without official colors; maybe you run a dog training school, a youth club, or a sports team. Embroidered patches are a great way to identify the members of your group without spending a fortune.
I can say this much; if we ever decide to get involved with the dog program again I'm definitely suggesting the embroidered patch idea. It may be one of the best ideas I've ever had!
