When looking at patches to add to your awesome biker jacket, you'll find that you have many different choices. There are large patches, rocker patches, colorful patches, reflective patches, the list goes on and on. Which ones do you buy? Some people pick up whatever patch catches their eye, and the end result can be a colorful but mismatched collection of patches. That works well for some people and really reflects their personality, but other bikers want to create a theme for their jacket, and that takes a little bit of planning.
The first thing to decide is, of course, whether you do actually want a theme to your patches. By deciding to center everything around a certain color or style, you do limit yourself to which patches you can add to your jacket. For example, unless your theme is biker rallies you've attended, a patch for attending Sturgis or the Daytona Beach rally would look out of place. One solution here is to start a couple of different biker jackets or a jacket and a vest and do one without a theme.
The first patch you should decide on is your large back patch, if you want one. These large patches take up most of the center of the back of a jacket or vest, so you just need one. They also limit how many smaller patches you can have, so keep that in mind. Usually, though, these larger patches are more detailed and colorful.
Once you've selected the center of your patch collection, it's time to fill in around it. You can add rocker patches to the sleeves or the front of your jacket and smaller patches just about anywhere. You can purchase them individually or buy wholesale biker patches so you can share with your friends.
