Most bikers wear their same amazing biker jacket for years. However, sometimes after a crash or years of use, a jacket has to be retired. Then you'll want to start out a brand new jacket and add new patches to it. But what if you absolutely love some of your old patches and don't want to lose them? You could buy new versions and adding them to your new jacket, but it's not quite the same, these patches have been with you to so many places and through so much that they have become a part of your riding experience.
Fortunately, you might be able to move some of these patches to your new jacket. There are two ways to attach patches to your jacket: ironing them on and sewing them on. If you ironed the patched to your old jacket, you won't be able to reuse them. However, if you sewed them on, you can carefully remove the stitching and possibly reuse the patch. The small holes made from the needle shouldn't be visible on the patch once it's sewn on to your new jacket. Sew the patch on to your new jacket and it can continue its adventures with you on the open road.
You can also reuse some patches once you're finished with them on your jacket. Even if you ironed them on, you could cut a small square around the patch and then add that piece of material to a quilt or a pillow or even frame it and mount it on the wall. Just because you're not wearing the clothing the patch is on doesn't mean that patch will never see the light of day again. Be creative and find fun ways to reuse your old patches!
