Many bikers love collecting patches for their jackets, vests, bags, and even just to display as a collection. But while most bikers enjoy finding the perfect patches to add to their riding gear, not many think to turn this hobby into a way of making a bit of extra money. Some bikers, though, decide that reselling patches online and at biker rallies is a fun way of earning some spending money. While it probably won't replace your day job unless you attend a lot of rallies, it can still be a lot of fun.
Reselling patches involves two things: building up an inventory and then finding customers. Building your inventory will, of course, require some start-up capital. However, there are a few little tricks you can use to save a bit of money. The first is to look into purchasing wholesale biker patches. Buying in bulk this way will quickly build up your stock, and you'll actually save money by purchasing large quantities. The second thing you want to do is do a little market research. See what patches tend to be popular and which don't. Also consider your location. For example, if you're going to be selling patches at a rally held near a military base, you might sell a lot of military-related patches.
You might think that selling patches online would be easy, but there are many businesses that already do this. You can try putting patches up on auction sites, but be sure you're actually making a profit there. You don't want to lose money on either the patch or on shipping.
Of course, if you're going to resell patches, you do have to commit to it. If you buy up a lot of stock and then only attend a few rallies a year, you'll be losing money.
