Take Your Time Selecting Your Patches

When you add biker patches to your jacket, they're more or less a permanent attachment.  Yes, if you sew them on, you may be able to snip the threads and move them, but there may be some visible small holes where the stitching was.  If you've ironed them on, there's no removing the patches.  This means before you start putting patches on your jacket, you need to carefully think about which ones you want and where you'll put them.  A little planning before you start can make all the difference.

First, you need to decide on what kind of theme you're going to have, if any.  This will help you decide which patches to buy.  You can go with patches of a specific color, ones that promote certain causes, or just buy patches you find really interesting.

Second, do you want to use any large biker patches?  These large patches are really detailed and colorful, but they take up a lot of room.  You can use one of them as the center point of your jacket or vest, but you won't have as much room for smaller patches.

Third, are you putting these patches on a vest or on a jacket?  If you're using a jacket, you'll have room to put some rocker patches on the sleeves.  You can also put small patches under the rockers.  Don't forget that you can put patches all over the front of your jacket or vest as well as the back.

Fourth, do you want your patches spread out or clustered together?  If you put them close together, you'll have room for more, but the overall look may not be as nice.  Spacing out patches can look better, but you'll have to narrow your choices down.
