The Many Types of Motorcycle Riders

There are many different types of motorcycle riders out there.  Some bike when they have the time, while others ride every day.  Some have only a few iron on patches on their jacket, while others have their whole jacket covered and collect more.  Despite what some bikers claim, there is no one 'true' type of motorcycle lover.  Here are some of the different types of motorcycle riders, although you may find that you fit into two or more categories.

The Light Hobbyist, this type of biker owns a motorcycle that only sees action every now and then.  He (or she, of course) loves his bike, but he hasn't fully committed to the biker lifestyle.  It's an expensive hobby that he dabbles in every now and then.  This type of biker probably doesn't attend rallies and may not be a part of a motorcycle club.

The Every Day Rider, this is the biker who uses his motorcycle as his main form of transportation.  You'll see him zipping up and down the streets on his way to work, the store, or any other appointment he has.  He's learned how to fit everything he needs in his saddlebags, or he may have a side car or trailer for hauling groceries and other large items.

The Weekend Rider, he's on his bike more than a light hobbyist, but he doesn't ride every day.  Instead, he spends most of his weekends on his bike.  He's also probably a member of a motorcycle club and attends rallies.

The Tinkerer, this is the biker who owns three or four bikes, but only one of them runs.  He's always buying bikes to work on or for parts.  He's also the one you turn to when your bike is acting up because you know he's going to be able to fix it.
