The Number of Women Bikers is on the Rise

If you have been paying attention when you're driving, you may have noticed that there is a growing trend of women riding bikes.  Previous stereotypes of people who enjoy riding motorcycles have been big, burly men clad only in leather, but the truth is that many of these preconceptions are beginning to lose ground as more and more women find themselves taking to the open road.  In fact, the influx of many different styles of motorcycles has caused a shift in who rides motorcycles, and one of these shifts is in gender.

For example, there are a variety of bikes ranging from the very sporty racer bikes like Honda or Ducati to the larger style of Harley Davidson motorcycles.  This has made it a lot easier for people (both men and women) to find the type of motorcycle that will fit their lifestyle the best.  This means not only an influx of leisure drivers but also an influx of women who have found that they enjoy the thrill of cruising.

Not only that, but there is also an increasing number of websites, shops, and clubs, that are specifically targeted to women bikers.  Many companies now create riding gear and other items just for women.  Many women riders also like to mark their items with their own style, and because of that, many places now carry specific stickers and biker patches aimed at lady riders.

Biker clubs are no longer men-only groups.  The woman biker has arrived on the scene, and she's here to stay.  In fact, in some cases, she's got a bigger, louder, and faster bike than the men she rides with!
