Using Patches for Halloween Costumes

Halloween is coming up pretty quickly!  Do you have your costume yet?  If not, it's not too late to come up with one, even though you do only have a couple of weeks.  You can create a costume based on your favorite book or movie, one based on a character from popular culture, or dress up like a famous person.  You don't need a high-quality expensive costume, either.  In fact, with a little imagination, your Halloween costume can look incredibly awesome and cost very little.  For many costumes, a few different motorcycle patches can make all the difference.

Instead of shopping at a costume shop or buying one of those overpriced outfits made from cheap materials or plastic, go shopping at a second-hand store.  You can find some clothing that's in great shape for only a few dollars.  You might even find costumes with different patches on them, like used army jackets or pilot's jackets.  Sometimes, even a biker will donate his old riding gear to a Goodwill or Salvation Army, and you can pick up an awesome jacket covered in patches.

What costumes should you add patches to?  Well, obviously if you're doing a military outfit, you'll need some patches that fit.  Some science fiction military shows can also benefit from these types of patches.  If you're dressing up like a sheriff, police officer, or firefighter, you'll also need a few patches.  You can order these patches online from shops like The Cheap Place.  There's still time to get them in the mail if you order soon.

There are plenty of other costumes that could benefit from a few patches.  You could even dress up as a biker if you wanted and create your own custom riding jacket!
