Do you have a lot of old patches laying around that you aren't sure what to do with? Some people have their old jackets and vests hanging in the closet that they just can't bear to throw away because they have some of their favorite patches on them. What can you do with these old patches? There are a few different projects you can use them on, although some if it will depend on how you attached the patches to your clothing.
If you sewed them on, you can carefully snip the threads holding the patches to the material. Then you can reuse them however you want: you could put them on another jacket or vest, display them in frames, or use them on anything else you want. If you've just bought a new jacket, you could even transfer all the patches over and basically re-create your riding gear. This is perfect if you're attached to the patches and want to keep showing them off.
If you ironed the patches on, it will be a little more difficult to remove them. However, it can be done. The easiest way is to cut up your old clothing. Cut a square or a circle around the patch. This makes it easier to put the patch on something else or to use it in a craft project. For example, you could sew this square of material and its attached patch onto a throw pillow or onto a banner as a way of displaying it.
When it comes to reusing old patches, you're only limited by your imagination. You can do just about anything with them if you get creative, even with patches that were ironed on.
