What's the Deal with Patches, Anyway?

If you've seen bikers, you've probably noticed all the patches they have on their jackets.  Why do motorcycle riders wear so many patches?  There are a number of different reasons why they wear embroidered patches.  Some just like the way they look, while others think very carefully about the meaning behind each and every patch they add to their jacket or vest.  Sometimes, bikers add patches that reflect their position in their motorcycle group or their role as a biker.  If you're thinking about riding a motorcycle or if you already do but don't have any biker patches on your jacket, here are some reasons why you might want to add a few.

First of all, they're stylish.  Some of the images on these patches are really detailed and look amazing.  You can really make a statement by adding them to your plain jacket.  The bright colors on some of these motorcycle patches will really stand out and look incredible.  They're sure to get you noticed.

Second, they're a great way of expressing your personality.  You can add patches that show off your political views, your zodiac sign, your thoughts on sex, there's a patch for just about anything.

Third, you can use your jacket to show that you don't want to join a motorcycle club by wearing lone wolf patches.  These patches indicate that the wearer likes to ride alone and doesn't want to join any group.

Fourth, if you are a part of a club, you can wear club patches.  These patches are usually custom made and list the name of your club and where it's based out of.  Some clubs also give their members and officers special patches to wear that indicate their rank in the club.
