Beginning bikers may have thought of everything: they've got their new motorcycle, they've got some awesome biker gear, they've picked up a few sew on patches to give them some style, and they've ready to hit the road! But then they realize they're not sure where they should go. Some bikers might want to pick up and go without any sort of plan, but even they need some sort of destination in mind or at least a route to follow. If you're wondering where you should ride, here are a few thoughts.
You can approach riding in one of two ways. The first is to decide on a destination first. If you're taking a short trip, you might decide to ride around the city and back to your house, or if you have some errands to run, you can combine them with your riding excursion. If you've got more time, you might ride to the next town over, to the beach, or to a movie theater to catch a show. If you have the whole weekend free, you can even ride five or six hours to visit relatives, stay over, and return on the next day.
You can also decide where to ride based on how much time you have. If you've got an hour to ride, that narrows down your destinations, especially if that includes your return trip. You can also decide where to go not by destination but by route. If you happen to live near a lake, for example, you might enjoy riding by it. It all depends on how much time you have, if there's anything special you want to do, and what kind of trip you want to make. If the main point is riding, maybe you don't need a destination, but if you're actually making the trip for some other reason, the destination is important.
