Where's the Best Place to Buy Patches?

Are you looking to find a few more embroidered patches for your motorcycle gear?  There are a number of different places you can shop for patches.  Not every place will have the same patches in stock, of course.  Some of them will offer more of one kind than another, and brands may differ.  There are some advantages to buying your patches over the internet, for example, but there are a few downsides, too.  The same goes with buying your patches in a store or from a vender at a rally.  You may even have the chance to buy biker patches from your fellow bikers.

If you buy patches from a store, you'll get to hold them, see how they look on your jacket, and know the exact size and colors.  The downside is the cost.  Because brick and mortar stores have more costs associated with them, more employees, utilities, shipping, stock storage, they have to charge more for items.  There's also sales tax and other charges added to each patch.

Online stores don't have to deal with many of these extra costs.  For example, there are no shipping costs to deal with, and they typically have fewer employees and other overhead costs.  However, you only have the website's description and image of the patch to go on, and some people need a little more than that.  Online shops usually offer a larger variety of motorcycle patches.

Finally, you can purchase patches at rallies or from your friends who buy wholesale.  Rally patches are usually even more expensive than store patches because venders are trying to take advantage of being at a rally, and they also have to recoup their travel expensive.  Wholesalers sometimes offer good deals, but you may want to shop around first.
