People sometimes ask why we charge $2.95 for shipping when we pack most of these orders in stamped envelopes and we wanted to take a moment to explain our shipping fees. At the time of writing this entry we charge $2.95 minimum shipping on packages weighing up to 3 ounces for domestic shipments within the United States. About 50 cents of this covers the stamp we use if we can fit the order in a stamped envelope. The other 50 cents covers the per transaction fee, the envelope itself and the invoice paper we use. This leaves a $1.95 excess and here is what that covers.
Part of covers the cost we incur picking your order and most of it covers our no questions asked, customer is always right policy. You might be scratching your heads asking yourself what does that mean. Well simply put we don't believe in arguing with our customers. You will never be left in frustration after your order ships whether you've received it or not. You haven't gotten your order? We'll reship it to you, no questions asked. You didn't like the quality of the products, we'll send you another one or refund your money. You received something different then what you were expecting? We'll take care of you. It's what we do. And we could not do this if we were not charging what we charge for shipping.
We understand this also opens up an invitation to fraudsters looking to take advantage of our kindness. Sure one could claim they haven't received their package when they actually did trying to get free products. That's a risk we take and that is why we never allow guest checkouts. Every event is recorded for each customer and mailing or billing address we deal with. Fool us once shame on you, fool us twice shame on us. Please keep in mind we are a small family ran business and we care about each and every one of our customers. We are grateful to have all of you and we will take care of all of you.
We will continue to use envelopes to ship a majority of our orders. We know it doesn't have tracking information and we are sorry for that. If your order consists of many patches that won't fit in an envelope it will ship out as a package with tracking. If it costs over a certain dollar amount and it's the first time we are shipping to you, we will ask for signature. If your billing and shipping addresses are different we will call you and only ship your order out after speaking to you over the phone. There is no exceptions to this. We thank you for being honest with us. It does help keep our costs down. Sadly we've been scammed one too many times by our far east Asian and African customers and had to shut down access to our site in those regions in order to continue keeping our costs low.
