For motorcycle enthusiasts, working for a motorcycle dealership may be a dream job. You get to check out all the new models as they come in and maybe even get a sneak look at some of the newer ones that will be released in the next year. You don't have to be a motorcycle expert to work at these places, although it does help to know about the brands being sold there.
If you like looking like the stereotypical biker, you might have to adjust your looks for some dealerships. However, most don't mind if you wear jackets covered in motorcycle patches or other items related to the brand of bike you're selling. Of course, it depends on the dealership, too. Some are much more relaxed, and some operate with the same air as a car dealership and expect everyone to wear blazers and ties.
Why would you want to work at a dealership? Well, first of all, you get to be around motorcycles all day! That in and of itself is pretty cool. You may also get to ride a few of the ones that come in, and you can get to know the ins and outs of them. You can also get promotional items like special biker patches, key chains, and t-shirts that aren't available to the general public.
If you enjoy talking to people about motorcycles, working at a dealership may be for you. Of course, they do need more than just sales staff. Most dealerships also employ mechanics to work on bikes and some even have artists and others on staff to handle detailing bikes and adding customer parts. If you're looking for some way of working with motorcycles, though, it's certainly an option.
