Hey Pennsylvania bikers, are you ready for the Roar on the Shore Bike Rally? It's happening July 19, 20 and 21, 2012 in Erie, PA. This is the sixth year for the rally, which is sponsored by Harley Davidson, Off-road Express, Rocket 101, and several other corporations. There's a lot going on in these three days, including live performances, tons of venders, shows, rides, contests, and performers. Best of all, the rally is absolutely free to attend, although some of the contests and such may have small entrance fees.
The Roar on the Shore began in 2007 with two goals: remain a free bike rally and serve as a major fundraiser for a number of charities. Since then, it has grown rapidly, and more than 80,000 bikers now attend. Some of the events have become a tradition that many look forward to, such as the Bringin? in the Roar bike parade. This parade features over 5,000 bikers, and performer Vanilla Ice will serve as the grand marshal. He will also perform in a pre-parade concert. Other performers at the rally include the bands Great White, Chrome, and Slaughter. Other events include a ladies only ride, a freestyle jump show, the Miss Roar on the Shore contest, and a biker breakfast. There will also be a drawing for a free Harley-Davidson motorcycle!
Another highlight of the event will be getting to meet Rick Fairless. Fairless is the owner of Strokers Dallas, a custom chopper store. There will be several meet and greet opportunities during the rally. You'll also find a huge number of venders at Roar on the Shore and can purchase everything from parts to biker patches from them.
