They say that men never really grow up, only to their toys change. That may be true. I was browsing through the Biker Patches at The Cheap Place when I stumbled on a small, rectangular patch that forced me to do a double take. It's the North America Color In patch -- a simple, black and white piece with a map of North America. The interesting thing is that it's meant to be colored in as a biker visits various states and Canadian provinces. In theory, I guess the goal is to visit every place on the map and have it colored in. What a great idea!
Being a biker doesn't mean you have to belong to a club with a bad name and reputation. I know plenty of bikers who are average, hard-working Joe's with jobs, homes, and children. Their love for their motorcycles extends to their vacation time each year, which is spent traveling the highways and byways of this great nation on their bikes. Having this color-in patch is a great motivation to visit new destinations.
You could get one of these patches for all the riders in your family, as well as friends that might ride with you. Make it a goal to visit as many states and provinces as possible in your lifetime. What a accomplishment it would be to have the map entirely filled in before you pass on. And just think of how many stories you'd have to tell your grandchildren!
