Patches for Your Little League Baseball Team

What do you get when you mix embroidery with reptiles? Take a look at this Cobra Patch from The Cheap Place and you'll see what I'm talking about. I found this one in the Animal Patches section and it jumped right out at me. It reminded me of the summer days of my youth spent playing Little League baseball. I remember our uniforms were kind of dull until one of the coaches asked permission to embellish the jerseys with some silk screening. Then I thought, if I were a coach, why not get a bunch of these Cobra patches for every member of the team?

I don't know if you can still do this today, but in my day, the jerseys were provided through sponsorships from local merchants. They would have the business name on the front and the team name on the back, and coaches were allowed to add small patches or silk screens as long as they were in good taste. Can you imagine being sponsored by an exotic pet store? You could give your team the "Cobra" nickname and identify yourself with this patch.

I suppose in our current culture of not "hurting anyone's feelings" or being intimidating, some parents might object to a menacing cobra on the side of their child's uniform. But I think would be awesome! I can just see it now; the local Cobras  taking the field with their snarling mascot daring the opponent to come play...
