A Patch for those from Arkansas

Arkansas PatchIf you're from the great state of Arkansas and you're proud of it, you'll want to include an Arkansas Patch on your jacket.  These state rockers patches are arched and look great on your shoulders or on the front of a vest.  They measure 4 by 1.75 inches and include die cut borders.  This makes it easy to sew them onto leather.  For non-leather products, you can iron them on using the heat-activated adhesive on the back.

Arkansas became the 25th state admitted to the union on June 15, 1836.  It's the 32nd most populous state and the 29th largest.  The capital of Arkansas is Little Rock, which is also its most populous city.  The state's name comes from the same root word as the name of one of its neighbors, Kansas.  However, the world 'Arkansas' is actually now the French pronounced the Quapaw tribe word 'akakaze', which means 'land of downriver people'.  It is also related to the Sioux word 'akakaze', which means 'people of the south wind'.  Arkansas is known as The Natural State, although it was previously called The Land of Opportunity.

Arkansas is home to a number of good sized cities in addition to Little Rock.  Major areas include Fort Smith, Fayetteville, Conway, and the popular vacation spot of Eureka Springs.  Eureka Springs is a very unique Victorian resort village full of winding, steep streets and old-style cottages and homes.  Many different music shows, boutiques, and historic sights draw visitors all year long.

The state is known for being the home of former President Bill Clinton and for being the state in which Wal-Mart was founded.  The company is the second largest employer in the state (the State of Arkansas itself is number one).  Wal-Mart headquarters is located in Bentonville, Arkansas.
