The men and women in the U.S. Army have served and protected this country for years. The Continental Army was formed in June of 1775 to protect the colonies in the American Revolutionary War, and ever since then, the Army has participated in missions across the world, fighting for freedom and protecting those who could not protect themselves. One of the conflicts the U.S. participated in was the Vietnam War, and while it certainly was controversial, the soldiers who served in it deserve the same recognition and honor as those who served in other conflicts. If you were in Vietnam, you have the right to wear this Vietnam Veteran US Army Patch. It's located in the US Army Patches section on The Cheap Place.
The Vietnam War took place between November of 1955 and April of 1975. The U.S. supported the South Vietnam forces against the communist forces of North Vietnam. While the air force and the marines played a large part in Vietnam, the Army also had a number of troops deployed to the area. When they were brought home at the end of the war, they were awarded with this ribbon as a sign of appreciation. It is symmetrical and features green, yellow, and red. The yellow bar divided by three red strips resembles the flag of South Vietnam, which is yellow with three red strips running horizontally across the center. The green bars at the end are for the army, which uses green as its main color.
