Arrr, This Patch is for Pirates!

Medium Pirate Skull PatchAre you all about skulls?  If you are, you probably have a few skull patches on your jacket or pants.  While many of these skulls are somewhat similar, there are a couple of different Skull Patches that add some extras.  One of these is the Medium Pirate Skull Patch.  This fun patch features the traditional skull and crossbones that were often flown on pirate ships.  The skull has an eye patch and a bandana on it, making it look even more pirate-like.

The skull and crossbones appears on a number of things, such as poisonous containers, but the original was called the Jolly Roger, and it was flown by ships to identify them as pirates.  Obviously, many ships didn't fly this flag until they had attacked their targets.  They would usually fly a stolen flag that made them appear to be a friendly ship, but once they began their attack, they would hoist the Jolly Roger.  Pirates usually flew it to scare their victims into surrendering without resistance.  It let them know that the attacking ship was full of outlaws who might not play by the rules.  They might not take prisoners if people resisted, for example, so it was worth surrendering cargo and money if it meant the ship's crew might live.

This medium sized skull patch measures five inches across and four inches high.  It can be sewn on to your leather clothing, or it can be ironed on to any other material.  You can put it on your jacket, hat, vest, pants, or even a canvass bag.  If this patch is too large for you, the same design is also available in a smaller size.  Need a lot of patches?  The Cheap Place also offers patches wholesale.
