Coast Guard Patch Showcases Emblem

US Coast Guard PatchThe United States Coast Guard is sometimes the forgotten branch of the military that serves and protects us, but in truth they have one of the most important jobs: to protect our shoreline from attacks.  This US Coast Guard Patch Rect. showcases the emblem of those who work to protect our coasts from foreign attacks and enemy invaders.  If you know someone who has served in the Coast Guard or if you are a veteran, then you can show your pride in your service by attaching this Military Patch to your clothing, jackets, or bags.

This twill patch is rectangular in design and measures 2 by 2.75 inches.  On the top of the patch are the words 'United States' embroidered in bright white thread against a black background, and on the bottom of the patch are the words 'Coast Guard'.  The center of the patch is red twill with the Coast Guard emblem in the center.  The emblem is a circle of rope with two crossing anchors in the background, while in the forefront is a life preserve with a flag badge on top of it.  Around the life preserve are the words 'Semper Paratus' (always ready) and the year that the Coast Guard was founded officially, 1790.

The patch can easily be attached to items like shirts, jeans, jackets, coats, hats, bags and more with an iron.  That is because the back is coated with a special heat activated adhesive that will cause the fabric to bond with the patch.  However, because of how it can damage the material, you should only sew the patch on if you are putting it on leather.  Just sew around the border of the patch with either a machine or by hand.
