You'll want to get these older Sturgis patches as soon as you can because they're not being made any longer. Plus, you'll want to catch up so you can grab a 2012 Sturgis patch, this year's rally is coming up August 6th through the 12th. That's in just a few weeks!
The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is held the first full week of August in Sturgis, South Dakota. It began back in 1938 when the Jackpine Gypsies motorcycle club held the first rally. The first event, the Black Hills Classic, consisted of exactly one race of nine bikers. The Jackpine Gypsies are still heavily involved in Sturgis, and they still own the central grounds and tracks used by the rally. Today, Sturgis is a six-day event featuring racing, stunts, live entertainment, Motocross events, venders, and much, much more. You'll find everything at Sturgis, including bikes, parts, biker patches and other gear, and memorabilia.
Sturgis sees over 400,000 bikers annually. In recent years, many have even starting bringing their entire families to Sturgis. Unlike some rallies, it is a family-friendly affair, and many of the events can be enjoyed by bikers of all ages.
This Sturgis patch measures 3.5 by 3 inches. It can either be sewn on to your clothing or ironed on using the heat-activated backing. If you need to grab some Sturgis 2011 patches for your entire biker club, it is available as a wholesale biker patch.
