Its a Beautiful Day, Now Watch someone mess it up

Hello everyone, yes every now and than I like to take about half an hour to talk about things. It has been at least a week since I made a blog entry on my site. I must say last few weeks have been busy Monday through Sunday. That's right, I don't take the weekends off. I suppose I am doing something right to keep my customers extremely happy that they go on about spreading the word.

I've been putting up a lot of new biker patches to my site for you all to purchase. I came out with 40 or so new designs of mine, some reflective, others are one or two liner patches to keep a smile over our faces.

Now you might be wondering why the title of this blog is labeled the way it is. Well like any day I face there are ups and downs. About a few weeks ago I tried email marketing and found it of great help. So last night I was up writing an email to all my wholesale patch customers. Needless to say, today I woke up to find lots of orders to fill which was all great news.

However, I did get a reply to my email by one of my potential wholesale clients. She never bought anything from me before, but I had an account set up for her. As always, your privacy is respected so no names will be mentioned. But here is the reply I got on my email from a potential client.

"Please remove me from your mailing list.  It's a shame, I would really have liked to order from you, but you are displaying an unofficial American flag...This country's  flag is red white and blue not red black and green...we are all Americans under one flag.  There should be no deviation to our country's flag."

My jaws dropped as I read this reply. What had I done? I was not aware I was selling American flags with the wrong colors on it. And I assure you I am not. The only American patch that I have that doesn't have white on it is my reflective version where the white is replaced by reflective fabric, but it still looks white under lights. So I asked the lady what she was talking about?

She got back to me about my combination flags. How it was unauthentic to put two flags next to each other. I am pasting the images of these patches below. These patches were designed by myself about 3 years ago after getting a request from someone about making a patch that had the Puerto Rican and the American Flags together. So it all started out with a simple design with the Puerto Rican Flag and the American Flag next to each other, USA Puerto Rico Patch. In time I had other customers wanting it with the Mexican, Cuban, Canadian and African American colors. So I went ahead and made them. And I've been selling them continuously for the past 3 years without any complaints.

I wanted to hear your opinions. Are these patches offensive to you? I never had any thoughts about these patches offending anybody. That was not my intention when I was designing them. This ladies reply to my email has taken the fun out of my entire day and I wanted to write a blog entry and find out whether I am offending people by making these patches or I'm just dealing with a customer who woke up on the wrong side of her bed.

Please any comments and thoughts would be highly appreciated.

Thank you all for reading, your support is immensely appreciated by me and my family. Take care and ride safe as always.

I had to put the perfect saying patch to go along with adding some humor as this lady really very much so has taken the fun out of my day.
