Lady Riders Headed to Daytona, Check Out This Bike Week Patch

Daytona Bike Week 2012 PatchDaytona Bike Week is coming up!  If you're headed out to sunny Daytona Beach, Florida, you may want to pick up a few 2012 Daytona patches first.  A lot of bikers like to add a new patch for every biker rally they attend, especially if they go to one of the big ones like Daytona or Sturgis.  The Daytona Bike Week 2012 Patch - Black and Pink is a nice way of remembering this year's rally, especially for lady riders.  Sure, men could add it to their jacket, too, but since it's mostly pink, it's really aimed more at women.

The Daytona Bike Week is a huge motorcycle rally that is held during the first full week of March every year.  The average attendance is around 500,000 bikers, making it one of the largest rallies in the United States.  The event started in 1937.  The rally wasn't held for several years due to World War II, so instead of being the 75th anniversary, 2012 is actually the 71st rally to be held.

While the event was originally called the Daytona 200 race, today the rally includes much more.  There are still races, of course, but there are also bike shows, dealers, trades, live entertainment, and even family-friendly events.  The event has become so popular that the Daytona Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau has created a second motorcycle festival, Biketoberfest.  It began in 1991 and is held the weekend after Columbus Day.  While not quite as popular as Daytona Bike Week, Biketoberfest still draws a good number of bikers.

This patch features the front of a motorcycle along with 'Daytona Bike Week', the year, and '71st'.  It measures 3.25 by 2.5 inches.  The Cheap Place offers this patch as one of its wholesale patches for those buying in bulk.
