Have you seen the Game Over Marriage patch? If not, take a look at it once you're done reading this blog; you'll find it in the Saying Patches section. It's a black and white, 3" patch designed to look similar to the door signs you might find on male and female restrooms. It shows a married couple, arm in arm, and the phrase, "game over." It made me chuckle when I first saw it, but I sincerely hope that most of us don't feel this way about our marriages.
I, for one, would only sew this patch to my jacket with a tongue-in-cheek attitude. Yes, there are certain life changes demanded of both men and women when we get married, but for the most part those changes are good. Personally, I prefer a stable and peaceful married life over my old, rock 'n roll, single life. I know that everyone doesn't feel the same, but if you don't, why get married in the first place?
For me, the Game Over Marriage patch is just a humorous way to let other people know that I'm taken. If you agree, get one of these patches and wear it proudly. If you're good with a needle and thread it's easy to sew on. Otherwise, it has an iron-on backing that can be applied to any fabric. And if you're married man, you might even get the wife to do it for you! Bonus!
