For today's post I want to talk about the Crashing Sucks patch. It's a 4" rectangle in black-and-white that you can find in the IT-patches section. Now, having seen it, does it remind you of another patch I wrote about a few months ago? If not I'm referring to another similar patch which says "helmet laws suck". This Crashing Sucks patch caught my attention because of the canceling-out affect.
If you're not sure what I'm talking about consider the oldest illustration of the devil on one shoulder and angel on the other, both trying to convince the hapless victim what he should do. In the end they cancel one another out and that's that. By the same token, the patch regarding the helmet laws implies that the wearer disagrees with such laws and would be happy without them. On the other hand, the wearer of the crashing patch acknowledges that the consequences of his actions would be unpleasant.
If you're still not with me perhaps you've crashed yourself one too many times. Regardless, crashing does indeed suck as is so clearly stated on today's patch. I would recommend you get one of these along with the helmet version and put one on either breast of your leather jacket. Then stand back and watch the puzzled looks on the faces of those who read. If you don't have a leather jacket, consider some other type of jacket or a vest, hat, or backpack.
