For today's post I chose the Legalize Freedom patch because of its poignant message. It's a 3" x 1.25" rectangle, with white lettering and border against a black background; you can see it in the IT-patches section when you get done reading here. Although small in size, the message it contains is as powerful as it was when our forefathers sign the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
I find it ironic that in the Land of the Free we have reached a place where some parents in Chicago are no longer allowed to send lunches from home with their school-age children, because the school district thinks they are too stupid to provide proper nutrition. We now live in a country where the mayor of New York City has decided to outlaw trans fats, limit salt intake, and knows what else he has up his sleeve. The fact is, everywhere we turn politicians and bureaucrats are taking away our freedoms in an attempt to protect us from ourselves. How on earth would we ever survive without them?
If you're like me, and value the old-fashioned principle of freedom, perhaps it's time to get one or two of these patches and display them proudly on a jacket, hat, or shirt. If we Americans don't start standing up for individual freedom and liberty it won't be much longer before it's all taken away. So a small as the Legalize Freedom patch is, it's important enough that you get one today.
