This Korean Defense Patch Shows a Different Side of Vietnam War

Korean Defense Us Army PatchWhen people think about the Vietnam War, they often just think of the primary conflict that occurred in Vietnam; however, there were other areas that also saw active combat during this time.  For example, the Korean War had only recently ended, so soldiers had to be left in that area to make sure that the borders were guarded in an attempt to provide defense on the Korean front.  If you served in the Korean Defense during the Vietnam War and were awarded a ribbon, you may want to wear this Korean Defense Patch - Embroidered Ribbon proudly.  It also makes a great gift for veterans on Veterans Day, which is coming up very soon.

This US Veteran Patch itself is not very large, only four inches by one and three quarter inches, and is printed on a plain black twill background.  On the top of the patch are the words 'KOREAN DEFENSE' in bright white lettering.  Then, immediately under them is a reproduction of the ribbon awarded to those who served: it features alternating bands of green, white, green, yellow, green, and blue.  On the bottom of the patch are the words 'US ARMY'.

Like most patches, the back of this one has been treated with a special heat-activated adhesive, which means you can attach it to fabric using an iron.  This does not work if you are trying to attach the patch to leather.  In this case, the heat from the iron could pucker the leather.  You can sew the patch directly onto the material by hand stitching it around the edges or by using a sewing machine to anchor it completely to the material without glue.
