Vietnam Army Vets, This Patch is for You

vietnam army patchThe Vietnam War took place between November 1, 1965, and April 30, 1975.  While the conflict was started by North and South Vietnam and was, on the surface, about these two countries, in a larger view, the war was between the United States and the communist countries, mainly the U.S.S.R.  It is considered to be one of the major Cold War conflicts, and many soldiers took part in it.  If you were a member of the U.S. Army at the time and were deployed to Vietnam, the Vietnam US Army Patch - Small Arm Rocker patch was created for you.  It's one of several Military Patches on The Cheap Place aimed at Vietnam veterans.

While some see the Vietnam War as something of a blunder and as a low point in the history of the U.S. Army, that doesn't mean those who fought did not valiantly give their all.  Army forces spent years performing intelligence gathering and training the forces of South Vietnam.  Once the Gulf of Tonkin Incident occurred, however, the Army was forced to move in and begin traditional battlefield operations.  While the Army did struggle to revise their counterattack measures because they were unprepared for the Viet Cong guerrilla hit and run strategy, they still did not lose any sizable battles in Vietnam.

This rocker patch is done in the standard colors of the U.S. Army: black and green.  It measures 3.75 by 1.75 and is arced to fit on the shoulder part of a jacket sleeve.  It's one of many in stock patches you'll find on The Cheap Place that will ship very quickly.
