  • Tips for Ironing on Patch: Plug in iron. Crank it to highest setting. Place iron on top of your garment with a frying pan thermometer sandwiched between iron and garment to start the preheating process. Once temperature reaches 280 Degrees Fahrenheit unplug your iron. Temperature will continue to rise and then start to decline. Once it declines to 280 Degrees Fahrenheit, Slide the iron, place your patch and press the iron on top of your patch as hard as you can for 30 seconds without moving the iron around. Do not mess with the patch until it has completely cooled down. A household iron will not work as good as a heat press. Do not iron on patches to Leather or Nylon. Watch Video

  • Description - Butterfly Biker Patch:

A butterfly on a motorcycle is not something you see every day – at least in the sense of the butterfly doing the actual driving… So we find it fascinating that some creative artist designed the Butterfly Biker iron-on patch now included in our inventory. This is easily one of the most unusual biker patches we have ever seen.

It is pretty typical as far as embroidery goes. You have an iron-on patch that starts with a twill fabric to which embroidery is applied. The embroidery is made of 100% rayon thread to guarantee quality and visual appeal. Everything is held together by a rigid plastic backing with iron-on glue included.

While we are talking about iron-on glue, it works extremely well on fabrics like cotton and denim. Polyester would be another suitable candidate. It is not a wise idea to try to glue the patch to a leather jacket or vest. Also avoid nylon. These types of materials are extremely sensitive to heat. You can damage leather or nylon with an iron or heat press.

Fortunately, you can always sew the patch on with needle and thread. It features a black die-cut edge with black embroidery – perfect for hiding black thread in the background. Even with just basic sewing skills, the border will hide your thread well enough that it will not be seen.

As for the rest of the patch, just take a look for yourself. We love the subtle use of color here. No single color dominates. Rather, there is just enough of each one to give the image a striking appeal.

We appreciate this embroidered patch because you really need to look at it to figure out what it depicts. For that reason alone, it is a great patch to sew to your jacket or vest.
