Why Do Motorcycle Clubs Wear Patches?

If you've ever seen a group of motorcycle riders cruising down the road together you may have wondered why they wear embroidered patches. Some of the patches they wear are just for fun or decoration, but most the time they are to identify them with a specific motorcycle club or a cause. For instance, the Blue Knights motorcycle club has a distinctive club patch they wear on the back of their vests or jackets. This patch is known as their "colors." But some of the members who may have also served in the military might wear specific patches on the front designating theaters of engagement or specific units they may have been attached to.

Interestingly enough, the idea of the embroidered patches goes back centuries as a means of identifying soldiers. Way back when the patches were much larger and were attached to flags and banners lifted high so that individual foot soldiers could see and follow them. Gradually armies began making those patches smaller and attaching them to clothing. At the same time they were also used for ornamental purposes and religious observances as well.

Whether you purchase retail or wholesale patches, each one is a unique work of art that serves some sort of purpose. You can use them merely to decorate or you can use them to identify a club, a group of individuals who have achieved some specific goal, or a cause you're trying to promote among the general public. Embroidered patches have so many uses they are limited only to your imagination. The Cheap Place invites you to spend some time looking at their entire inventory of embroidered patches and other items. As large as their inventory is you'll probably find something that is interesting to you.
