For a Wet Patch Just Add Rain Water

If You Dont Ride In The Rain You Dont Ride PatchI chose the subject of today's post, the If You Don't Ride In The Rain You Don't Ride patch, based on personal experience. By the way, you can see this one in the IT-Patches section. Anyway, when I first got my bike back in 1984 it was my only mode of transportation. I live in upstate NY which, in case you're unaware, has a grand total of about two weeks every year when the weather is ideal for riding. The other 50 weeks are a crapshoot.

Believe it or not I rode in rain, snow, wind, and even occasionally the sunshine. I carried a rain suit under my seat and kept a good layer of RainX on my face shield. When it got really cold I wore a snowmobile suit to keep warm. And during inclement weather, I made the extra effort to be safe.

The key to riding in the rain is to remember that two wheels don't grip the road as well, so you're more prone to slipping and sliding. Keep your distance from vehicles in front of you, make lane changes gradually, and go easy on the turns.

If you're a biker who rides in the rain, this patch is your badge of honor. Wear it proudly on your vest or jacket, or even sew it to your rain suit. It's your way to tell the rest of your biker buddies you're not afraid of a little water.
