Now A Biker Grandma PatchToo?

biker grandma PatchYesterday I wrote about grandpa's on motorcycles, so today I have to write about their wives. And why not? How could I resist? My focus today is the Grandma Biker patch found in the IT-patches section. Like the grandpa patch, it's a 3" rectangle in black and white. Yet this little piece of embroidered fabric with a plastic backing screams volumes about people who have been historically portrayed as the most fragile of our society: grandmothers.

Fortunately, many grandmas are not as frail and helpless as we think that they are. There are plenty that can hold their own in the back of a Harley along with girls 50 years their junior. These older ladies enjoy the freedom of the open road just as much as a young counterparts. In fact, about the only difference you'll find between biker grandmas and 20-year-old lady riders is the fact that the older ladies are a bit more wise and refined. But even so, there's something about the lady rider that never changes.

So all you grandmas, it's time for you to join grandpa and get one of these patches of your own. Sew it on your jacket, vest, sweater, T-shirt, or whatever else you can find. Just don't let anyone push you around and tell you you're too old for motorcycles. In other words you older ladies, ride proud - proud to be a grandmother and proud to be biker!
